Why we are taking poetry into schools
Talent is evenly distributed; opportunity is not. Here is what the Pun Poets Creative Club is, and why it exists.
Most poets in our community found poetry by accident — a teacher who read something aloud with feeling, an older sibling's notebook, a video that landed at the right moment. Almost nobody found it because their school offered it.
What a club actually is
Two hours a week. A trained facilitator. A room. Twelve weeks of session plans that move a class from "I don't write" to standing up and performing something they wrote themselves.
What we ask of schools
Very little, deliberately. A room, a staff contact, and pupils who chose to be there. We bring everything else.
